Travelling Brazil by car is one of the best way to see this beautiful country located in eastern South America. With a population of over 190 million people, it is the largest country on the continent and the fifth largest in the world.

Everyone enjoys a holiday, but most rely on public transport and taxis to go around and see the sites. Perhaps the best way to indulge in everything on offer, is to cruise around Brazil by car. This allows you to have freedom of choice in where, when and how long you would like to go somewhere.

The country has a reputation for aggressive and often reckless drivers, it is wise to understand the local road rules and have knowledge of the area you are travelling through. You will need an up to date map to ensure that you don’t get lost.

Most rental car agencies will require you to be over 21 years old and this is the standard world wide. You will need to have appropriate insurance in place, just in case you find yourself in an accident.

With a coastline that is 4,655 miles long, Brazil offers a large selection of beautiful beaches for tourist’s to enjoy. The official language is Portuguese and a translation book may provide assistance in communicating with the friendly native people. One activity you should try during your stay should be beach soccer. The sport is very popular among the local culture and is a fun activity to enjoy on the sand.

If you are flying in from another country, the majority of airports have rental cars available. Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and Brasilia airports all include these services. This makes it very easy for any tourist to start travelling Brazil by car.
