Vancouver Sightseeing

vancouver-sightseeing.jpg

Vancouver is one of the most beautiful and scenic cities in the world. This makes it perfect for exploration and Vancouver sightseeing tours offer a myriad of exciting experiences. Being nestled beneath the Coast Mountain Range, surrounded by water on 3 sides, and having one of the most temperate climates in Canada, Vancouver is a tourist paradise.

The sights and sounds offered by this beautiful location ranges from ocean kayaking and river rafting, to guided tours through the city and the rainforests. This city is also a golfing mecca, and sports a multitude of golf courses in and around the city.

Stanley Park should be included on your itinerary. One of the best ways to see this green oasis is by renting a bike. Your fitness levels may be tested, especially when traversing the 8 kilometer seawall path. Another sight to see while riding around this massive park is Prospect Point, which offers spectacular views of Lion’s Gate Bridge. Brockton point, with its authentic totem poles, is also well worth a visit.

One of the most unique ways to explore the area is by air. You are able to hire small Beaver and Otto propeller powered planes. These short wingspan planes are incredibly versatile and provide city viewing tours or trips over the mountains and lakes. These planes can land in relatively confined areas, and provide the opportunity to explore in the air or on land. Whale watching, trips to the Chatterbox Falls, or a quick flight to Vancouver Island are possible with these exclusive air ferries.

Beaches are a dime a dozen, and besides going on a Vancouver sightseeing tour, spending a day on one of the pristine beaches is a perfect way to relax and unwind. Some of the best beaches to visit include Kitsilano Beach, Wreck Beach, Jericho Beach, Second Beach, Third Beach, Sunset Beach and English Bay.

Eating out is a culinary experience of note in Vancouver, with almost every imaginable taste catered for.

A visit to the village that hosted the 2010 Olympic, and Paralympic games, should be incorporated into your Vancouver sightseeing schedule.
